A few scattered showers this evening and tonight, mainly in the mountains. Otherwise, generally dry conditions. Snowfall limit around 700-800 m.
Wednesday: changeable weather. Tendency for clear spells, sometimes quite fine, over the lowland regions. Cloudy skies near the higher ground and a few showers of instability reactivating as the day goes on, which could affect all regions in the late afternoon and early evening, but the overall risk is fairly low. Flake limit around 700 to 900 m. Very cool.
Temperatures forecast for the Rhône plain: lows 1 to 2°C, highs 10 to 12°C. In stations around 1500m: lows -5 to -4°, highs 0 to 3°. On the summits: -8/-4° at 2000m, -15/-12° at 3000m. Isotherm of 0°: 1200 m.
Moderate breeze during the day on the Rhône plain. Strong north-westerly wind in the high mountains (peak winds sometimes exceeding 60 km/h at around 2500m).

Next few days in Valais
On Thursday, conditions will continue to change, with occasional clear spells over the lowland areas and cloud formations that may be widespread, particularly near the higher ground. Isolated showers not ruled out and flakes from 800 to 1000 metres. Still very cool, barely 10°.
On Friday, there is likely to be an interlude of relatively sunny weather, despite more widespread cloud cover in the afternoon in the mountains. Risk of frost at daybreak, beginning of a thaw during the day. A southerly barrage develops, with some precipitation in the Simplon region.
From Saturday onwards, the weather pattern will change and the upper air flow will shift southwards, allowing temperatures to rise again. Cloud cover and the risk of showers due to wet conditions rising from the Mediterranean are still uncertain.
